The Beach in Ocean City

Beaches along the East Coast are some of the best places for a summer vacation. The good news is visiting the 10 miles of Ocean City beach is absolutely FREE. There is plenty of entertainment on and off the beautiful sandy beaches. Make sure you look into the special events so you know things like when they have free movies on the beach and live music

Ocean City Maryland

In the summer months, this beautiful beach is ready for you to go sunbathing, build castles, and fly kites.  It has lifeguards and rentals for beach chairs and umbrellas. (Okay so I did not make that sandcastle, but it’s pretty impressive.)

Don’t let sunburn ruin your trip! Make sure you pack some good sunscreen to protect yourself and your family

When you take the whole family to Ocean City, one of the fun things you want to do is go to the amusement park. Jolly Roger Amusement Park has two locations. One is located at the southern end of the bustling boardwalk and one is Coastal Highway. It is ranked on TripAdvisor as #12 out of 29 things to do in Ocean City. The giant Ferris wheel is a main attraction that you can see from the coastal highway.

When you’re done playing bumper cars at Jolly Rogers, check out another one of their family-friendly amusement parks. There are popular attractions for all ages. Check out the water slides at  Splash Mountain Water Park, race on go-kart tracks at Speedworld, and play mini golf at the Miniature Golf Course

Trimper’s Rides and Amusement Park

Ranked as #5 of 28 things to do in Ocean City Maryland, Trimpers Rides and Amusement Park should be a “must-see” on your list! It is the oldest continuously family-owned and operated amusement park in the world. You will have a great time as you jump on a roller coaster, play arcade games, and eat some carnival-style food

In 2020 they underwent a number of major renovations to add 11 new rides. They are well known for their popular rides like their Herschell-Spillman merry-go-round and their roller coasters. Check out their year in review in the video below to see more.

Ocean City Fishing Pier

I’ve liked fishing since I was a little girl. I’m not particularly good at it, but it’s fun. (Sometimes all I catch is a buzz. Cheers!)

Oceanic Fishing Pier is open 24 hours from May – September and you don’t need a fishing license. You can rent everything you need including rods, reels, tackle, and more.
